It was on Nov 29, 1970 and it cost me a whole $6 to get in. Somehow I also managed to keep my stub for parking in the Music Fair lot--the stub says I paid a whole 25 cents to park! This recording is of that night's second show. The early show was performed without Bobby Whitlock; we were told he missed the flight. But whatever the explanation, this was not a happy band that night. No smiles. I was in the fourth row just left of center and it really was quite evident from the outset that somebody was pissed at somebody. There is a comment by an audience member heard on this aud tape regarding some issue between Clapton and Gordon - my recollection was that Clapton was pissed at Gordon for something about his playing during the show. Clapton spent the better part of the show with his back to the audience, facing the musicians. As I stood outside the theater during the last part of the early show, I could hear that they were playing a number of songs recorded by Cream. Once we learned that Whitlock was not present, it made some sense that they would do that. Anyone have a setlist from the early show that night? As I recall, the theater was maybe half full (at best) that night. Cheers and thanks to you all for posting shows. What a great surprise to find a recording of a show I attended so very long ago, and one for which I have such strong memories. Please post more if you have them! Scott (skraly) Notes that came with this recording: Hey Friends, today I'm posting my favorite unreleased Dominos show, with a great setlist! Unfortunately I never found someone who could give a recording generation for this show, but this is the best copy I found so far!
